You will see your hosts cycling a lot on the park!

Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat opened for business on 1st January 2002 and is a small family run business. Gerard & Margaret and their daughters Okki en Jette Klijn arrived from the Netherlands in 2005 and took over the business on 13 July 2006. Gerard & Margaret travelled a lot themselves and always wanted to run a caravan park, where they could meet travellers from all over the world.

The retreat is renowned for it’s unique location and friendly atmosphere.

Gerard & Margaret are developing the park in a slow pace. Not to grow bigger, but to turn it into a small and eco-friendly park, where you can enjoy nature at it’s best. What they have done so far in their first year is stop using chemicals, but use Ha-Ra for cleaning, recycle as much as possible, put in a pond for the wildlife, planted native trees and fruit trees, put in a chicken pen, started a vegetable garden, put in 16 extra powered sites, changed the chlorinated pool into a saltwater pool and upgraded the cabins.

Their future plans are upgrading the community campkitchen and the amenity block, installing rainwatertanks and plant more (fruit) trees.
